Ford Files A Patent To Collect Information From Motorists?

Remember, data is the new oil.
Ford hasn’t forgotten.
When you buy your new Ford; is your data going to oil Ford’s bottom line?
Ford’s new patent is to collect data from motorists, and target them with ads that would include the vehicle’s location/destination/route, as well as conversations happening between human occupants.
[to determine which ads to show on the Ford’s vehicle screens, of course].
Ford says, not matter what; they will always put the customer first.
Or, is Ford’s customer’s a commodity first, and a customer second?

Every appliance, vehicle, and device is being “smartened” to watch and listen to people, making them into commodities that can be mined for data by the private sector and surveilled by the public sector.

At least the tech companies gave you stuff for free (like email, search engines, and social media) in exchange for taking your data. These days, you’ll be expected to pay for the privilege. Isn’t the “internet of things” fun?!
