Yes there seems to be shortage of empathy and understanding. With the world being portrayed in the media as insane what can be expected from the viewers? (A football player is fawned over after collapsing at work, yet the murdering of hundreds in the Ukraine mean nothing?). Read somewhere one way to survive in a insane world is to live your own life with rational meaning and try the best you can to keep the insanity out of your environment. Hard to do when venturing outside of your home environment.

I have become so numb to the Ukraine losses in the field that I did not “feel that”. Thanks @Bill10558 for reminding me that we can start making these comparisons. They are killing us EVERYWHERE and we must not lose sight of that and make them accountable however we can.

BTW, I have a close friend in Vienna and called her today to find out what is going on there. She confirmed that crime is up, people are forced to pay exorbitant fees for heat, but like the USSA, so many young people are left without a clue. “We need a sweater ? What does that mean- I like to lounge in my underwear!” We both laughed. Our mothers said to put on a sweater if it was cold in the house.

Although she is still completely oblivious to the vaxxx dangers, she did heed my warning and put in a fireplace in her apartment. (She is a retired architect, for goodness sakes). She also put up a small greenhouse on her top floor (again, because I begged her to do it) but she still thinks I am a conspiracy tin-foil-hat-wearing-fool when I discuss the jab. You can lead a horse to water and occasionally they take enough sips to stay alive.

She heeded some of your recommendations, that’s good. I am rereading Peter Drucker’s 1936 analysis of the rise of Totalitarianism in Europe before he left Germany. Just one publisher agreed to publish the book here—John Day Co. (The End of Economic Man-THE ORIGINS OF TOTALITARIANISM)
He examines HOW it happened as a social phenomenon and how the Nazis pulled it off by using current conditions such as the despair caused by the failure of both capitalism and socialism, combine the two and one has fascism. The irony is no one actually believed in fascism, however it fit the bill as a “magic solution” even with the multiple contradictions.
One example he mentions is the narrative of a boy who breaks the jam jar and knows he will be discovered and punished; but he prays, hopes and believes against belief he will escape.
Same with England’s appeasement tactic prior to the war. Both wish for a magic miracle.
I thought of the those who realize the clot shot was not a good idea after all. Their saving grace is believing against belief, magic will allow them to escape any possible consequences. They believe against the truth they do no wrong harassing, shaming and killing others. The Nuremberg trials were a sham in my opinion, those most responsible for the crimes got off easy and their life was spared. Probably the same again if it ever gets that far.
