The next full moon is March 7. Most invasions throughout history tend to be on moons of at least 50% light; in earlier times, on full moons.
Yes, it still matters, even with all the advanced tech. The infantry needs at least a small amount of light with night vision, etc.
The full moon has past for this month, but still quite full right now. Wonder how long it will take Putin’s generals to stage all their troops? Will they wait for less light, more light? Last year, the push began on just under 50% light.
I can’t imagine Russia waiting another month, but ground conditions will also have to be solid for a campaign that might last a bit. March is iffy but I don’t know their plans.
