God is lawyering up, he's still broke and upset at not getting his 10% (actually much more) ... Church is still failing the "follow Jesus" test

If the Catholic church had to pay all the expenses for these illegals, their smuggling operations disguised as charities would end real quick. - courtesy of Comments section on Zerohedge

Why would they want so many pieces of paper covered with “images and inscriptions”?

1 Timothy 6:10

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Now Pope’s USAirstrip-1 Bishops, like the Envoy previously mentioned … like the rich young ruler you may now just go away.

Maybe the church could auction some of its art collection or property to help the poor. I guess the Vatican fails the “follow Jesus” test

Mark 10:21-22 - Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. (22) And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.

… although Jesus said that, I guess he really didn’t mean it. Just Jesus bein’ all crazy
'bout that mony thang …

Now Pope’s envoy … like the rich young ruler you may now go away.

A reminder to the Socialist Catholic (and most other flavors of Christianity as well) Church

… “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.”
― Margaret Thatcher

"But He loves you. He loves you, and He needs money! He always needs money! He’s all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can’t handle money!”
― George Carlin

Mk 11:15-18, Lk 19:45-47.

Yeah it always amazes me how when Jesus makes his triumphant return to Jerusalem, after basically being seen the first day, first thing Monday morning after the sabbath, he marches down to his “Father’s House” and basically man-handed all those money changers, kick over chairs with doves clearing house. So many modern Christians think money is okay, I’m like read that story again. His Father is God, God made all, everything is his “father’s house,” not just some temple on a mountain in one city in the world.

… you mean like this?

Sure if you subscribe to the hollyweird version.

I’m constantly trying to remind people in the “christian community” Jesus was no sandal wearing hippie dippie, he was a rebel going against all things human.

The apostles and prophets were armed and violent. What is the normal response of a normal man who is attacked to be martyred? Turn the other cheek? No.

These were Indo-Aryan tribes.

The heresy of pacifism is absolutely ridiculous and immediately identifies the new age gnostic dweeb.

, and if I recall correctly wouldn’t the Magnificat (Luke 1:46-55) be heard as a Zealot call to arms?

… not sure why you say that the clip from JCS is “Hollyweird”. I was simply using it as a visual for the story of the overturning of the tables of the money lenders by Jesus. We have to remember that a great many are not very familiar with the Bible let alone any individual episode (e.g. the Magnificat of Mary cited above).

I simply meant because of all the ludicrous modern props “JCS” uses in the scene. Like the M2 .50 cal machine gun, just sitting on the table loaded…

I think we understand now that the “God” of the Old Testament is NOT the Creator of All!!! Then what we have in the New Testament is what the Roman Gov’t allowed us to have of the Jesus books! So, where does that leave us?!! :innocent:

Most modern christians would never capitulate to the old and new testament god’s being different. They would certainly agree god’s mood’s were different in the old testament than in the new. Normally this is the 2nd or "new"covenant argument. Personally i think the story/Bible was the first and best propaganda piece put out by humans until we get into 1500’s and acting becomes a thing. This is why there is a prophecy that religion will become attacked near the end times, because the writers of the story realized that the means of producing propaganda for the masses to consume would change dramatically over the prophetic time frame and the Bible would become outdated. Which it has.

Leaves us having to disregard the story. Find a different explanation for the unknown.

Thanks, MaJones, for your input!! Interesting point…“outdated”!! Problem is we have a big population segment that still believes it is THE Word of God…as I did for 70 years!!

i was raised in the Southern Bible Belt, and it’s a cult for sure. The manipulation is deep and once someone has seen the truth, which i did very early like 11 or 12. I shot a little robin or sparrow with my newly bought BB gun and once i realized i had taken it’s life, my soul was devastated, i balled for hours, and then i had to bury the bird so as not to get in trouble. So i went from soul less to self preservation in a matter of minutes. This one event at my young age shattered my perception of EGO. I was fully understanding my actions had consequence.

I told this to the “church” and the response i got was god will forgive. So rationally my 11 or 12 year old mind questioned this “forgiveness,” i asked out loud and “if i slaughtered thousands of birds with malice, would god forgive?” Inevitably the baptist community responded yes of course he would forgive. After playing monopoly for many years i instantly recognized what this was, a “get out of jail free card.”

My soul knew that was wrong because i had to walk through the pain of choosing the wrong path!

What an interesting story from your childhood, MaJones!! It was because of what I had lived through, myself, & what I had observed around me in the “Christian” Community that I was forced to start questioning everything at age 70!!
