on the chopper crash…now that major pieces are recovered, the emerging concensus among helo engineers and mechanics is that the aging (30 YO aircraft) transmission siezed and the inertia of motion of the rotor/assembly ripped the entire assembly right off the fuselage. The instant application of torque to the fuselage exceeded design limits of the tail boom and snapped that off too. Apparently, this failure mode has been seen before.
Presenter attributes to unknown mystery, but the comments tell the story.

That doesn’t exclude the possibility the siezing was ‘helped’ somehow / doesn’t disprove the conspiracy thesis.
