compressed hydrogen engines are not so new. This one may indeed be super cool…Toyota is great for things like that.
The car has to have a ‘fuel cell’ to carry the hydrogen (not just a hollow high pressure tank…there is a media inside that absorbs it / slows the release of hydrogen to lessen likelihood of explosion).
Infrastructure to re-fuel is a problem. Hard to imagine your average boomer (I am one) filling up a 3,500PSI fuel tank without the occasional exciting issue. Other categories of hu-mans would be equally challenged/intimidated I think.

In the 1920’s Tesla drove around for a Summer in some car with some sort of energy. Does anyone know what energy that was?!
