Isn’t it standard procedure to basically wait until the shooter has spent all his ammunition or killed himself? I’ve seen cops waiting at a safe distance outside of buildings with active mass shooters for what seems like hours many times before, on the news. Or at least back when I used to occasionally watch the news.

Oh God No! Never heard such a thing under these circumstances. Now, if he’s a lone shooter and threatening to only shoot himself, that’s a different matter but certainly not in this case.

When the Colorado Columbian high school shooting happened the cops didn’t to in for at least 4 hours while a teacher bled to death, there was an uproar afterwards. Afterwards police and swat teams had drills all over the country on how to deal with school shootings, and how to react and get in faster. They said “it would never happen again.”

The official story I read is that two of the first officers to arrive on scene engaged fire with the gunman immediately and both were shot, then the gunman retreated and barricaded himself into a room for some reason. The delay was before specialized tactical teams arrived including border patrol agents to break entry and the gunman was killed in that firefight.
Medical teams usually aren’t authorized to enter a scene until police have cleared it.

My friends in Uvalde dispute that story. I’m aware of EMS procedure, since I used to be a first responder & police dispatcher.
Will find out more as time goes on; i.e., they will tell us more lies. I agree with Rick Gore; all those officers standing outside should be ashamed of themselves.
It’s the most horrific gun control ploy yet. That’s what they’re ultimately after.

I can believe the official printed narratives are false, impossible to know what really happened without being there.
This is heavy news difficult for me to really engage with any commentary about a tragedy like this so soon.

Nobody knows everything that’s needed as yet, but I agree with Rick Gore on police behavior, or lack of it. It’s an abomination.
They are always after gun laws/control and creating terrorism because there’s power and big money in both. Security is a multi billion dollar business and they want to keep it that way while sacrificing children and communities. So sick of these psychopaths.

When I see “non cops” rant about how unacceptable it is that some cops, knowing they were being shot, not knowing by how many shooters nor where they are, didn’t blindly run towards the fire and die!!!
