Kind of like AA for bad guys. “Hi, my name is Ahmed, and I’m a bad guy…”

… don’t even know where to begin with this one …

  1. there appears to be a terribly flawed logic being used here … but this is yet another contribution to “explaining” the inexplicable foreign policy of the USSA, more or less, since the end of the Second War To End All Wars.
I am at ends to know what to call this kind of reasoning. Fallacious Reasoning to be sure … Globaloniest Resoning? Three Letter [lack of] Intelligence Agency Reasoning?

… and we will find out that it is true that Bad Reasoning Kills.

  1. as someone who applies the epithet Pragmaticist to himself quite often (it has almost nothing to do with the the word “Pragmatic” in normal usage) and in that the word “pragmatic” (a
heretofore formerly perfectly good English word) but now utterly devoid of any useful meaning, I was appalled to see the word “pragmatic” used in this article. A perfect example of what Orwell meant by “Newspeak”.

… and to quote from the article …

“In their first in-person meeting with the leaders of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, or HTS, since the former al Qaeda affiliate overthrew Syria’s long-time President Bashar al-Assad two weeks ago, al-Sharaa ‘came across as pragmatic,’ Barbara Leaf, top Middle East diplomat at the State Department, told reporters.”

Hey, when powerful influencers form a Public Relations firm, anything negative can become a positive. Edward Bernays would be so proud of his students.

… further thoughts on my earlier post …

“In their first …, since …” Hmmmm. One could read this as there having been other previous meetings. “Affiliate” - terrorists have affiliates now? … What is the difference between an affiliate and an associate? … What’s next? Well “franchising” of course. Has anyone a copyright on HTS? (might want to check with the K-Pop crowd) or Al-qaeda? (Well that copyright is probably owned by the DJB or was owned by Zbigniew Kazimierz Brzeziński and passed on to Mika via the estate. I find it interesting to see so-called “reporters” using the language of “business” when talking about terrorist organizations. In the “just another business context” it would seem appropriate to refer to Syria as just another “leveraged buy out” (the process of one “company” (wait that one is definitely owned by the DJB - think HAL to IBM) acquiring another using mostly borrowed funds to carry out the transaction." Seems to fit the situation.

Reminds me of what happened with Nelson Mandela. We were sold a bill of goods by the media! If you want the true story of what happened check out the “Ama Bhulu” site. In 2000 Harry Booyens had to leave his country, South Africa, for the safety of his family & some of the news has trickled out about the killing of white farmers. He later retraced his family’s roots which became a very interesting book with the same title! Sarah Westall did an excellent interview with him a few years ago!
