Another good one on Alexander, a bit less practical, but an excellent example of amateur historical preservation of culture and the heroic impulse.

Kudos for the link to the “myth of the 20th century” James Lafond, is a interesting character to say the least. Martially trained and living in the slums of Baltimore as a white guy, without a car, just because he wants to. I’m just gonna throw this out there, that takes some giant cojones! He’s got to be one of my favorite people they interview by far! As far as people that get interviewed on the web, even including the proverbial “intelligence operative,” this guy is probably the wisest and most intelligent “street smarts” guy you’ll ever run across. However, he’s also intellectually smart.
