Homebuilders’ confidence falls as they wait months for cabinets, garage doors and appliances

If they stop homebuilders, a plethora of industries, both large & small could tank.

For most builders, the last two years has been like herding cats between not finding materials and not getting people to work. For those limited to budgets, it has been literally impossible to finish projects as basic materials, like framing lumber, has increased by a minimum of 4x (it has fluctuated). Being from an area where lumber is produced, I am sure it is hard for everyone. It is about to get worse.

My best friend of 50 years live in Hawaii and if you think there’s problems here, they are at a screeching halt there. Can’t even imagine the prices.

I got family in Hawaii. I haven’t been able to get a hold of them, but I heard the fly in conditions are brutal, you need like 3 boosters to get there. On top of that somebody posted tons of cargo ships docked in Singapore with most being completely empty. With China hoarding food, people have no idea how hard it’s going to hit home. I’m sure Bill Gates will pop up with his edible vaccinated lab vegetables! Can’t wait!

I know it’s not building materials but a three-month back log on glass for eyeglasses. I use plastic!

@ColonelZ
That’s still materials, Colonel. Plastic is good in this case, else, I’d be up a creek.

There’s something going on in China that isn’t being talked about on the news. Hong Kong who doesn’t rely on cargo ships aren’t getting vegetables, and I don’t think it’s just cuz the mainland is punishing democratic sympathi,sympathizers, Xi had that area under thumb a year ago. Also the way they’re handling the Olympics is strange. I know they’re authoritarian, but this is odd even for a Xi. I’m wondering if that hemorrhagic flu is a lot more virulent and vast than they’re willing to discuss. The fact we have travel in and out of their by planes and an open border while that country is locked down. Think, they’re not even shipping food, but they’re shipping people. It’s insane how incompetent the West is to allow travel there and send our Olympians there when China won’t let a foreigner around without a minder.

This is the size of houses we will be able to afford:

Move to the city and live in an apartment where people can be stacked on top of one another. The sky’s the limit. Smart technology is cheaper if everyone lives in close proximity to one another and makes control easier when "they flip the switch. Tiny home living can prepare you for this especially if its stackable such as shipping container conversions, the latest concept in modular home building. Besides, its more “sustainable”, whatever that means. Agenda 2030 here we come! As for all that conspiracy nonsense, it can’t happen to me. Can it?
