Lake Mead, when it filled after the dam was completed, covered a Mormon town and an ancient Anasazi Indian village called Pueblo Grande de Nevada, also known as the Lost City… It was over by Overton/Mesquite, if I remember right. People from LA came and removed all kinds of artifacts and carted them off to CA. Some that remained were placed in a museum in the area. Rest were covered by water and eased from current memory.
Been thinking that with Lake Mead receding, the ancient Anasazi village should be visible now.
Was surfing around and found this USNPS article. Seems they lived underground for a time. Hmmm
It’s all fascinating, I was wondering if there was an old Indian curse of legend going on with the lake drying up. Ancestral Puebloan people and the Anasazi who disappeared from the pages of history. Read some may have to look at more. Thanks
