As Zeihan says, in order to get diesel from Texas to California, boats have to load up on The Gulf Coast, go down through The Panama Canal, then, up to California!
Although BNSF uses diesel to transport, it’s a straight shot and completely eliminates the burden of The Jones Act.
Oh yeah, I can see why Buffett refers to BNSF and his “gem”, his “jewel”; even though in the 16 years BH has owned it, not a penny of profit has been made from it.

“The pain threshold of Iran and The Houtis is very very high, while the threshold of The Gulf (States) is low…” I can’t express how important this is! Once U.S. elections are over, Trump (and Putin), maybe Israel too will put an end to The Iran War, one way or the other. I would not doubt that The U.S. will be hit with an increase in cyber attacks, as well as attacks on infrastructure.
My questions are:
#1 Who will control The Gulf States once they’re completely obliterated (and they will be), with possibly the ruling families no longer in power, or in the country, or dead?
#2 How are ‘they’ going to loose the water being held back by locks and dams in the Upper Mississippi/Missouri River(s)? Will it be a false flag? A warning that the barriers are failing? An actual attack from others upon those barriers? They need The Mississippi to be running at full height to eventually make all this work. I can only imagine the wakes of such an amount of water; flooding for many miles inland on both sides. Additionally, there’s further ‘work’ in California to be done.
