Remember when it was intoxicating to imagine ordering a pizza via your dial up modem? If only I had known as I installed that first Alcatel āfrogā ADSL module that I would be facilitating a bunch of purple haired Naziās to chance their way into our lives and make their ridiculous cultural demands. Did I miss a meeting?

There was a sweet spot with the internet, I remember it well. I reckon it was around 1992, we had early forums exploring some quite futuristic societal infrastructure issues and this was when 128k dual IDSN connectivity was a rarity.
The powers that be seemed to be playing catch up, although I guess at a high level they were keeping a close eye on developments.
It was an experiment, and they sat quietly watching how it would play out.
I am encouraged by the fact that the human spirit can overcome their blueprint of how the internet can be used, creativity is the wildcard!

I used computers, but didnāt buy one for home until 2007ā¦ It doesnāt do much for oneās healthā¦getting wound up while sitting still and staring at a screenā¦ Seems to me itās the Illusion of doing somethingā¦Yet here I am sitting still, looking at a screenā¦
And yet still two humans can communicate almost instantaneously. This perhaps poses the most serious threat to the establishment that we must take into account when assessing the current geopolitical arena.
Quite True, and yet of course, our dialogue and perspective is curated in real timeā¦ I just turned 50 recently, so my Cynicism has gone up quite a few notchesā¦ but to quote Dame Julian of Norwich- āAll will be well, and all manner of things will be Wellā
