Hyundai Sends Notice To Owners For Free Upgrade Of Anti-Theft System

I’ve received 2 notices from Hyundai thus far for this ‘upgrade’. My small vehicle is a 2015 model. I suspect that models produced approx. 2020 and later might also contain a kill switch. If a ‘Climate Change Lockdown’ is coming, such a switch could also be installed in this ‘upgrade’ without the owners knowledge or permission. Drive too far and your gas engine shuts down?

It is true that “Kia Boys” theft has been rampant; they’ve already hit my complex, stealing 5 Hyundai’s of various models. They left all Hyundai’s that had any anti-theft system in them. Hmm.

I think I’ll take my chances and leave well enough alone.

My 2018 was recalled for breaks. I keep putting it off due to nefarious reasons that they want to actually do something else to my car. I finally made an appointment thinking if I don’t get it done and I’m in an accident they can blame me for not going through with the recall and my insurance would be nullified. Always trying to protect myself in this world.

I should have kept my 2005 Honda Element.

I think you’re right in getting the brakes updated and can understand why you don’t want them messin’ around with your vehicle. Yes, insurance would try to wriggle out of any claims, so, it’s a smart move on your part.
