I thoroughly enjoyed this fascinating video on Ancient Greek music; it touches on philosophy, and all musical examples are played on the Lyre

A great presentation of ‘Lyric’ music, including a brief section on modes and the different feelings that they invoke - think the Affektenlehre that Dr Farrell discusses in his writings (‘Thrice Great Hermetica and the Janus Age’). And I confess I had no idea that that most ancient of Greek instruments, the Lyre, was even capable of producing such a wide range of both melodic and harmonic sounds. There is still so much we can learn from the ancients eh?

That was wonderful, thoroughly enjoyed, and have listened a couple of times already, worth repeated hearings. Thanks Beat :slightly_smiling_face:
