Apparently Putin didn’t believe Kissinger’s warning:

Ostensibly, there are aliens “out there”; needing to realize, Earth is capable of defending itself.

If Putin really believed this (doubtful), then it is absolute nonsense on his part! Russia has NOT become a completely different country, although vastly improved. Plenty of ideological differences, plenty of people who are frightened and plenty who will not utter a word because of threats of punishment.
Since I don’t think for one second that Putin really gives a hoot about Orthodoxy; similar to Constantine in his day, IMO. I will say that he’s as big a player as those in The West. It’s all a show.
