This chart is from a long UK daily mail article and it shows in graphic detail how much natural gas has gone up. It shows how much everyday items would cost if they had gone up the same amounts. Right now the UK Pound is close to the dollar (about 18 cents more) so you can get a rough idea in the US or the EU by thinking dollars or Euros instead of pounds for a rough estimate.
Without natural gas, much of Europe including the UK and Ireland lose electricity as well as heating.
