Remember the Alamo!
Kick out them pesky DC’s

I remember in 2029 when the public power grid went down due to ‘AI’ usage. The cowboys and Latinos all joined arms together and overthrew the Beast once and for all.

Lots of rolling blackouts and outages here. Just this morning, 5:45, I was in the shower and down she goes. Left for work at 7am, power back on about 7:30. Yeah, good times…

What the article is not addressing are the variable add on charges from city sales tax, franchise fees, “customer charge” (monthly administration fee for costs in billing and grid maintenance including the meter attached to the structure receiving electricity) and the Power Cost Recovery Factor (PCRF) which is the difference in the actual cost of the electricity from the supplier and the amount collectable from the consumer based on the offered rate times kWHs used during the month. The PCRF can be a debit or credit each month depending on what the electricity costs the provider. I registered with the coop electric franchise in my area who have a monopoly on providing service. The current kWH rate is $0.09187, add in the additional charges and the actual rate for May was $0.1587, $105.00 total based on 660 kWH from 4/19 to 5/17 28 days.
The collection of sales tax revenue increases with amount of the electric bill, the state has vested interest in higher utility bills.
The employees are courteous, professional and quick to repair any reported outage.

Ironically currently we are experiencing an electricity outage for the last 2 and 1/2 hours. Several years ago after experiencing the 2021 outage, I installed a propane generator that supplies electricity to the whole house when the electricity is out. I am currently using it until the power is restored. With 102 temperatures today, ain’t no time to be without AC…
