In today's jargon, I believe this is called a hostile takeover. The previous owners, real or imagined, have been rendered meaningless

I read about the drug in Syria last week and wondered ummmm. Maybe that helps explain the “speed” of the downfall. The soldiers are whacked out on drugs.

The claim it supported billions in revenue for the government made me think of how drugs support our own.
