A hundred year old resource extraction business model owned by a few local families obviously holds and controls the reins of power in Venezuelan government. How to maintain and continue the model, allowing loyal supporters to benefit from not only blocking changes to the model, but maintaining the model while ignoring the economic and spiritual damage to the general population from lack of economic development over the years tells all. Holding captive a $92 million load of crude oil only a limited number of refineries can even process and benefit seems more like a mafia business practice to choke a supply line. What a bunch of old fashioned greedy miserly red barons of yesteryear, still alive and supported by their descendants and hired hands.
