Ok, so i’ll start this one… They’ve tried to assassinate Trump once again. This time on his golf course in Florida. Word is that the suspect was using a Kalashnikov this time. Media not covering it. Heard about it a few hours ago but gave it some time to flesh out because, well… Florida.
They got the guy by the way. Let’s see how long he makes it…

Some interesting things with the attempt. Rifle was a Simonov (SKS) BTW, not a Kalashnikov but close enough. It had the serial number ground off…clearly shooter couldn’t buy legally in any state but HI where he lived since he had an out of state ID, so was given it (Antifa?), or bought it black market. Shooter was apprehended by Fl police, and has not been turned over to Feds…so maybe they can track who has been funding stuff like the attempt, his trip to Ukraine, etc. Shooter had several prior issues with LE including possession of an explosive device. Unknown what that means…but clearly this guy was likely on someone’s watch list.
Initial reports were that it was an AK. I did hear the SKS name bandied about through several following reports too, but which report can we trust anyway?
Must admit I was surprised they didn’t go with the standard AR hype as per usual to push the gun control narrative. Either way, if it was an AR, AK or SKS they’re all mid-range weapons and
not at all what you’d want to do this type of work.
Any old deer rifle with a good scope and 1-5 shot mag would be more suitable and easier to access in the “really real world”. My personal go-to would be a Browning BAR 30.06 (civilian version). Most people couldn’t handle the full-auto military job and you’d have to have an ammo mule too… Anyway, i’m off in the weeds now. Crazy Clown World it is.
true on the ‘hunting rifle’ comment. Any Winchester lever gun made in the past 130 years would have been equal to the task / equivalent in power and accuracy to what he tried to use.
But wouldn’t fit the ‘assault rifle’ narrative.
