…And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our soul
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last
When all are one, and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll…(Excerpt from the song Stairways to Heaven, by Led Zeppelin)
…and…
…Our law of peace
Which understands
A husband leads
A wife commands
And all of these
Expressions of the
Sweet indifference
Some called love
The high indifference
Some call fate
No man can see
The vast design
Or who will be
Last of his kind…(Excerpt from the song Nevermind from Leonard Cohen.)
So the combination of excerpts from these two songs makes me wonder if this is an approximately good description of the world we live in. The most important part of it. The core.
