It’s done. It’s done. It’s done.
And we are off to the races!!!
I noticed lately the TNYT removed the usual paywall to numerous articles just so we all have access. Nice of them🤭.
Feels different now.
On the summer solstice no less.
I feel not enough is being made of Israel reportedly not allowing it’s own citizens to leave the country .
I’m trying to understand that.
According to Trita Parsi and others, the uranium has been removed apparently long ago … in anticipation, I suppose.
According to others as well, apparently Iran knows what it’s doing.
And there was an Israeli yesterday in Cyprus who was saying he couldn’t get back in, presumably to check on relatives.
I am guessing but I think they’re not being allowed to leave because the current government is afraid it will collapse - one analyst speculated that that was why now, because the Netanyahu coalition was looking ready to fall (and of course his trial for corruption - what a naive, Old World concept, that a leader could be tried for corruption).
I would assume that’s the reason and but note how even the Jewish elite treat their own.
… is it just me or do the BEFORE and AFTER photos appear to be not very different?
couple of things; 1. Iran knew the capability of the US bunker busters for years. They moved the goods elsewhere. And left a couple of handy targets for what capabilities they knew existed (entrance / exit). Do you think they didn’t prepare for this by staging other entrances not yet completed but easily opened? They seem smart enough to do this. 2. Having all the refined nuclear material and not wishing to create a functioning nuke, they have missiles capable of carrying tons of it and spraying it (think dirty bomb) all over Tel Aviv and Haifa making them uninhabitable. The Iran response so far has been measured, at targets in kind to the targets struck in Iran. This is by no means ‘done, done, done’. DJT made a ‘gesture’ attack to appease the ‘bomb Iran’ crowd including Bibi. That’s what you saw. On a good note he launched the attacks from non-Arab nations and involved no Iranian resources. So he did best he could to keep the event unentangled.
Involved no Israeli resources…correction
People forget that Iran has 90 million people and is twice the size of Texas. They have facilities all over their country. It’s divided into 56 military zones each of which has been supplied and has instructions to keep fighting for up to two years with no re-supply (Scott Ritter). Israel has about 10 million and is the size of New Jersey. IR is a target sparse nation. Israel is a target rich nation.
USA just spent probably 100 million plus on an attack to kaboom a very small part of Iran. Large scale war on Iran is not affordable from both a dollar and (limited number of kaboom units) military perspective. We already gave all but our ‘war reserve’ assets to the Ukraine.
Oh, and the guidance systems for our ‘smart’ weapons require the use of rare earths which China controls access to. Will China sell us enough to re-build our arsenal of kaboom units?
On another site, people were pointing out that Persians also have a much, much longer history than the secular state of Israel, and that they, while having an aristocratic & wealthy class many of whom emigrated to the U.S. after the Islamic Revolution, are not as totally dependent on affluence, high technology, and the assumption of their own invincibility, as the Israelis, who are not accustomed to loss.
In the field of medicine alone, the Iranians have had to make do for years (due to US sanctions) on not having easy access to surgical & medical technology - not because they don’t know how to use it! there are Iranian emigres in medicine who prove that wrong - but because they couldn’t get it - while the Israelis have had easy & constant access to top of the line tech, equipment, supporting services, etc. Everything the best for the Israelis.
So the ones who are closer to being preppers would be the Iranians.
Cubans, what do you think of them?
Anyone who can keep 1950’s cars running with the sanctions they’ve been enduring are geniuses…
Incredible. I’ve never been but had friends who did go when Obama was in office (they went to check out the organic agriculture forced by having petrochemical inputs cut off), & I had another friend whose parents brought her out as a small girl after the revolution, but 2 of her uncles stayed until maybe the 1980’s? They emigrated to US - one to southern California. I read a book by a woman who was there during the Special Period - her husband was either a European or Canadian, so they could travel. Everyone admired their ingenuity in surviving under such harsh conditions.
Interesting discussion on Thomas Keith and Charlie Kirk X accounts today about the Mighty Wurlitzer regime change machine cranking up in hopes they can get Iran to turn itself inside out with a revolution. Since we can’t bomb them into submission and all.
