I recently discovered Dorothy Donegan, a classically trained jazz pianist… soooo talented and unusual for her time and in the male-dominated field of jazz. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJ7OLTl-HRE

Thanks, Margaret. She is a WOW! I am confident my piano teachers would all point to her hands and how her fingers are never straight out but always arched to allow her “hammers” work fluidly.

Never heard of either of these fabulous women so thanks for the introduction!!!

Excellent!! Thanks for this!! So far, I would say Oscar Peterson is my favorite of all time!! Check out his “Summertime”! This Grandma doesn’t know how to do links!!

Aw Grandma, it’s not hard to share links. Look up a tutorial and have fun. Oscar isn’t at the tippy top top of my list, but I have a few lp’s for guests who are fans.

.

I like Diana, as well. It’s amazing how each person’s personality comes through in their own way!! :star_struck:

and I especially noticed how long her fingers were … her movements so fluid
