Watch a peculiar cloud as it launches from Mexico, arcs across the gulf, reshapes en route, and seems to deliver a payload of “heat” to various fields in the south Lake Okeechobee region.
The essence of this message can only be appreciated if the event is seen in motion which is only for a few hours of this posting. When watched, it looks as if a mortar is launched from the coast of Mexico and passes across Florida, peppering the lake area with fires. Carpet bombing with clouds --genius.

So, for roughly 90 minutes, the south lake area experiences several dozen hotspots (black dots on infrared image viewer) and are assumed to be fires because of the subsequent plumes (on visible image viewer).

Hotspots are detected. No red flag warnings, no prescribed burns.

Conclusions
Many will say these are crop field fires set by farmers. The blinking nature of the black dots; from background land temps in one moment (not even a light gray dot), to the hottest temp possible (black dot) in five minutes, back to no dot, suggest much more heat is present than what a farmer could supply when burning field remnants.
I spent hours this morning assembling this data and did so because the cloud behavior was so blatantly obvious. I noticed the cloud ejection before going to bed. It resembles the same sort of accelerated cloud motion observed the day before. That Michigan tornado (which took down a Fed Ex center) seemed to benefit from the energy.
