My Traditional Catholic relative said her friend told her to shut off her phone & place it in her microwave (not on of course). She said she is going to church for an adoration of the Sacrament & will just leave her phone in her car, locked, across the street for the duration of the 30-minute test (where did this idea it’s a 2-hr test come from? I have difficulty taking these kinds of things seriously when we’re talking about mobile phones that are so easy to smash with hammers.
Have a regular mechanical bell phone with a flashing light I can connect to landline but have this disconnected because of too many nonsense calls, need to set up new phone line for emergency calls only.
Test is over. 5 seconds. That’s all folks.

Geez, in the old days the three networks would sign off at night by testing the Emergency Broadcast signal.
Luckily there was never an emergency. Since the cell phones pretty much have everyone’s attention instead of the television, makes sense to redesign the system to include phones.

Watched a blurb of the news tonight and 60,000 Kaiser union employees on strike. Looking at them I would think now is a good time to get medical attention if needed.
