Mendelssohn Op 42

I have the great fortune of singing the cantata “Der 42. Psalm” Op. 42 by Mendelssohn on the same concert as the Mozart Requiem for the Remembrance Day concert in Edmonton.

I’ve never sung this Mendelssohn before, and it’s typically Mendelssonian - beautiful and beautifully constructed. I wish choirs would sing him more - he’s one of my absolute favourite choral composers. I think it will pair very nicely with the Requiem (Mendelssohn is in F+ and the Mozart in d-)

And no, I"m not the soprano soloist. I’m an Alto II rockin’ it from the back row.
