I wonder if that’s going to work on those with any memory of living through the communist era. Most people who lived through that time were smart enough to know the official story was nearly always a lie. On the other hand, Eastern Europeans, understandably, tend to be very mistrustful of Russia (to put it mildly). In the end, people are going to judge by what they see happening around them in real life: If a bunch of “Ukrainian” refugees are clearly immigrants from some non-European part of the world, or if “refugees” start to set up mafia-type criminal gangs, well, people are going to draw their own conclusions regardless of anybody’s propaganda. I’d be interested to hear what any Gizars in Eastern Europe think about this.
