More Chinese SIM / server farms

this is a follow on to a story from last week where the Secret Service shut down a n operation that could have performed “swatting” and DDOS (denial of service by oversaturating calls to a phone line or computer server).

Apparently there could be up to a hundred more of them sprinkled around the US.

I’m thinking this is where all the SPAM calls for me to buy more insurance are coming from (sarc).

… We might take the time to consider other likely candidates … one of our own myriad of 3, 4, 5 or more letter agencies. Russia, Russia, Russia - Ukraine, Israel, any of the countries we have invaded and or overthrown since WW II, shall I go on? Maybe it is a little early in this game to say tag.

In as much as there are relatively few electrical transformers/nodes across USA which need to be taken out to disable most of the grids across the country, there are similar nodes in ICT networks, more difficult to get at, but maybe that’s what these Chinese phone farms are about probing for these to compliment their kill chips in any Chinese made devices used by the public.

More than just electrical connector/substation nodes also cyber node nodes controlling the plant. http://www.na-businesspress.com/JABE/JABE22-7/11_MelliganFinal.pdf

Cyber attack can shutdown the power generation and switching…something like Stuxnet (US / Israeli Malware) which sold on to several countries. That would do the job nicely, or one would only need to inventory networks, identify the IP address / location for a common programmable logic circuits or applications across the network, to hack or to have physically supplied as a component.
