To remind everyone there is no longer slavery in the United States once they told the ones in TX. Depending on the definition of slavery, not true.

Maybe he means self-slavery. These people make a choice to be enslaved by their appetites, their egos and their small self worth. It’s self perpetuating. Blaming White people is just projecting. This is true of any person of any race.

From a depth psychology POV, it also reinforces their collective trauma (trigger), and by reinforcing their subjugation, and our white privilege. Control matrix reinforced. Historically, it represents nothing. It doesn’t unite, it doesn’t mark the end of slavery, Emancipation Proclamation, or the 13th amendment. It marks the day that some random mailman in Texas told locals that Lincoln had freed some of the slaves 2 years earlier.

It never mentions the moral stain of all the African tribes that were the slave traders. Any good market has buyers and sellers.

Somebody needs to do a new version of Roots and include all the historical facts.
