Totally get what @vardas3 is saying in the topic “musing on the truth war”, but closer to home. Decided to start a new topic so as not to be accused of posting off topic by …

Here in 3 counties with common borders, the sheriff races have spawned a strange cacophony of rumors about numerous sheriff candidates, who have allegedly been “convicted of perjury”; “under investigation for thief” of federal monies; “arrested” in connection with DEA activities; “former DEA agents.” Seriously. Is it because all is true or because the good ones are being undermined by the malo?

One thing for sure, there are more people than CAF who think the sheriffs races are the most important elected office and that the sheriff is powerful. Sometimes, it appears “they” read/participate in certain sites, like this one, to plan their next move.

Something is up and it smells and it is not just over seas.

Sites like this always have “lurkers”. Some remain deep in the shadows, no doubt about that. We’re all here to learn. Its what we do with what we’ve learned that makes us nefarious or, students hoping and/or trying to make this planet a better place to live.

Wouldn’t most of those allegations, if true, be verifiable by looking up records that are in the public domain? If we still had enough real journalists, and real local journalists, they might do the work of investigating things like that.

I think we should assume “they” (and their artificial intelligence programs) read and participate in all websites.

You make a very interesting point, Reba. I haven’t really taken note of the Sherriff races, but I will certainly start watching now.
