Must watch suggestions?

So I recently bought a small projector. I was a bit fed up with my small laptop screen and do not want a TV in my house. For 15 years now I am without TV. But i like to have the option. In order to use it you have to set it up and project that thing to a wall. It is for moments that I want to tune out.
Does anybody have suggestions for a good movie or TV series?
What is your favorite all time movie or TV series?
My personal all time favorite movie is Being There (1979)

yes i do like this little thing, It has a sound in it as well, so i can also use it for music and shut off the screen. It plays movies from USB stick.
Photo was last vidchat. The first time i turned it on. Joseph was very large. I hung a large sheet of drawing paper on my bookcase. I could almost read the books in Josephs bookcase.
That black thing with the blue light in the front is the little projector. The projector is called Nebula Apollo.

I was in theatre in high school (regional) and we performed R&G Are Dead. This is one of the BEST productions of that play. Thanks for reminding me, kalamona!

After many Giza recommendations, I finally bought the
“Babylon 5 Complete Collection”
It surpassed even my high expectations!
Highly Recommended! A timeless Sci-Fi Classic.

Agree, Being There is right up there. Also, The Truman Show.

I too stopped viewing TV over twenty years ago. Crafty, professional, useful sources that I wish I had access to in school (where I was encouraged by some teachers NOT to pursue some subjects (e.g., reading The Caine Mutiny in 10th grade study hall because…? A novel by Herman Wouk about legal proceedings.

Recently have found some good stuff on (cough, cough) u-boob (sic). For example, Jon Levi on Tartaria & other related stuff. Sometimes a little tedious sometimes (fast forward, skip around).

Lots of other good vids out there. Thinking about doing paid boob to eliminate incessant commercials. Also considering some kind of projection system for bare wall. Best to you.

It’s in novel form; having a long storied arc that gives the series a chance to develop characters in extraordinary depth. Thus, it becomes character driven; in a plot line, that deftly employs timeless classic stories; as relevant today, as yesterday and tomorrow.
Like you I wasn’t impressed at first, but due to the people recommending it; I slugged through more episodes, until I saw what other had seen.
From then on, I didn’t want it to end.

[1] Vivid scenes from this Russian movie are still in my visual memory … so indeed, very unforgettable after many years! Academy Award winner for Best Foreign film and the Cannes Grand Jury Prize, BURNT BY THE SUN is the unforgettable story of a Soviet hero whose happy family is suddenly targeted by Stalin’s secret police.
Preview Burnt By The Sun - YouTube
[2] Cinema Paradiso (Italian), music score by Ennio Morricone, Academy Award Best Foreign Film in 1989, plus other awards. Italian/English, nostalgic and heartwarming…

Some old episodes of Barney Miller were enlightening such as this one where the Tri Lateral Commission was exposed? introduced? to the world and “conspiracy theories” were scoffed at.
