i do not know if u ever happened to read warhammer 40,000
or just simple warhammer for starters. there is the warp, which is magic or whatever. they use it (it uses them) to cast spells, mutate creatures, terraform worlds and so on. and there are ancient megalithic warp-engines, warp-portals, and many types of warp-creatures, that emit/blow/sing/shriek very interesting tingling tones and rhythms, that buries itself into ur bones or into stones/planets, where it twists and turns everything into nothing if it is wielded so. u know the stuff.
but
as the story goes, there r ‘things’ in the warp, as u surely know. so all these high-end warp-driven animus-bearing (AI?) drive propelled vessels had to have all the sacred seals and blessings to protect it from the tides and inhabitants of the warp… (firewalls and isolation, oh)
so in a nutshell. this is pure technomancy with daimons on the leash counting the runes. and dropping crumbles to the underdogs, may they be scientists or open-minded people.
and really does not make anybody sleep better 
this is the seeding of the possibility in the academic circles (minds) on following events, i believe, that will take place in the not too distant future.
and
after all this ‘we will travel to the stars’ - although we do not (want to) know our neighbours - reminds me:
that everybody wants to be a tourist somewhere far from home where are no problems…
so lets raise a glass to douglas adams - who solved all these travelling problems many eons before - and to every hitchhiker in this beautiful galaxy and beyond!

This is one of my favorite Giza DS subjects. Unfortunately, I understand far to little. My interest stems from the fact that my father was an Aerospace Engineer who programed satellites with really good cameras. Alas, he was a spook to the end and divulged very little.
IMHO, your speculation on torsion physics and it’s possible ability to warp space time makes much more sense to me. Although, like I stated my understanding of how it works is miniscule. So your ant analogy sounds like it may just be the laymen’s description of torsion physics. I look forward to more.

The description with the ant on the string is exactly the one used in a book I read in elementary school in the early sixties. It was called " A Wrinkle in Time" and was calling that the 5th dimension or a “tesseract”. Just sayin’.
