Most Canadians don’t know this: “In New Brunswick, as in much of the rest of the country, the Crown owns the minerals on or under any property, and leases those mineral rights to prospectors and mining companies.”
That’s why the “Crown” has been the only “Jed Clampett” in Canada no matter what color the “gold” is.
There’s no direct specific information on how the British Monarch is currently involved in Canadian crown lands in regards to income, but I’m sure it exists.
“In Britain, the hereditary revenues of Crown lands provided income for the monarch until the start of the reign of George III, when the profits from the Crown Estate were surrendered to the Parliament of Great Britain in return for a fixed civil list payment. The monarch retains the income from the Duchy of Lancaster.”
What a convoluted web this is. So, who is the “Canadian Crown”?
“The monarchy of Canada is Canada’s form of government embodied by the Canadian sovereign.”
