Throughout the 1970s, New Mexico State Trooper Gabriel Valdez saw one strange thing after another in and around the small town of Dulce.
He spotted unknown objects in the sky, grisly cattle mutilations with eerie tools found nearby, and even a bizarre fetus he described as a cross between a human, a monkey, and a frog.
Valdez would soon dedicate much of his life to unraveling the mysteries of Dulce, and his reports laid the groundwork for an ongoing conspiracy theory that claims the U.S. military experiments on human prisoners in a secret base underneath the town — with the help of aliens.
Although Valdez would later publicly distance himself from the alien theory, he maintained that his findings prove the U.S. government is involved in bizarre covert activity at Dulce Base: “The evidence that was left there, you know, predators don’t leave gas masks, glow sticks, radar chaff — they don’t leave that stuff.”
