Its sad that this is so obvious and people just refuse to see.
"Why should Sweden, this tiny country with ten million inhabitants lost in northern Europe, have the privilege of appointing these universal awards? A French newspaper wonders!
The Peace Prize was financed for the most part by Norsk Hydro, which in turn was financed by Investor, so there is not much uncertainty in that particular matter anyway.
It is to be able to hide in broad daylight so that it is possible to operate without being seen and therefore the peace negotiations regarding Yemen are also where they are and these are happening right now!
But the respected newspaper Le Figaro goes even further in its cultural analysis, and actually questions Sweden’s credibility as host country for the Nobel Prize. The Nobel Prize in Literature and Economics are pure opinion-building awards and the Peace Prize is just what it is!
“Shaken after the Nobel Prize in Literature cannot be awarded this year, the Swedish institution is trying to remain a symbol of excellence. But more and more voices are now being raised demanding more transparency around how the winners are chosen,” writes Le Figaro.
The newspaper also takes ill-concealed delight in soaping up what it sees as an insignificant country that once a year, during the “Nobel season”, gets to make a difference.
The ceremony, which is followed by millions of spectators, shows how attached the Swedes are to the Nobel Prize, the newspaper writes, and is described as one of the few events together with the Eurovision Song Contest that gives the Nordic kingdom a chance to shine internationally.
German newspapers are not exactly more mild in tone.
In the United States, for example, the real comedy is that it took sexual accusations for the award to be called into question. The prize is considered “nonsense” and the real farce is all the people who insist on taking it seriously.
That basically the entire management at IG Farben was awarded the Nobel Prize during the 1930s and that the name Nobel was included in the Nuremberg trials to an ample extent, is something that has been lost in “forgetfulness”…perhaps for a reason?"
