No Exit on the Horizon

The terrifying thing about Israel is that we lack precise knowledge of its nuclear doctrine, as there is no public acknowledgment that Israel is a nuclear power. In the literature, I could only identify one instance where Prime Minister Ehud Olmert acknowledged that Israel was a nuclear power. On more than one occasion, Israel has speculated about what is known as the Samson Option—the use of a nuclear weapon in response to a conventional threat that endangers the existence of the State of Israel. Note: a conventional threat, not a nuclear one. If Israel were to use a nuclear weapon, that would open Pandora’s box for everyone. Then we would truly have a real problem.

If the United States were to withdraw from the war right now, the days following the U.S. withdrawal would be a time to tremble, waiting to see what happens. The best outcome for all of us would be for these people to succeed south of Lebanon and stay in the area up to the Litani River. Pay close attention to what I’m saying, because if things go wrong for them, I’m not sure what will happen to the rest of us.

The situation involving both Donald Trump and Netanyahu is enough to make you shudder. Let’s be clear—the two of them are nothing more than hominids, bipedal, featherless creatures, though I wouldn’t dare say hairless, because they are the closest thing to a baboon, a bonobo, that fate has seen fit to burden us with. At one of the most critical moments in my memory, we have two textbook psychopaths leading two nuclear powers, entangled in a war they cannot win. Can someone explain to me how this is going to end?

The United States is already in a depression. People in the U.S. are paying for fuel as if it were gold. In Europe, people are already using sunflower oil in diesel engines. Donald Trump is going to lose the midterm elections because he is a cretin who got himself into a war thinking he can just go into Iran, kill the Iranian government, and that this is like Maduro in Venezuela. At any point, did that idiot Trump ever see Ali Khamenei—when he was still alive—dancing the Macarena on television? That kind of stupidity reveals what this is: a gang of highway bandits who have taken over a country to loot it with both hands. These are people living in their own world—one that may not be yours, that maybe you don’t like—but it’s theirs, and they do like it. Those people have already proven to you, over the course of forty years—an incredible stretch—that they can endure a seven-year war with chemical weapons and not break a sweat. And now you think you’re going to show up, kill their pope, and they’ll all burst into tears and thank you? Come on.

Just look at how that massive cretin Donald Trump talks, saying there’s a negotiation going on with Iran. There isn’t a single American diplomat—not even by mistake—who has been in Pakistan as of today and spoken with an Iranian. What negotiation is he talking about? Yesterday he came out saying they let three oil tankers pass through as a sign of respect. Donald Trump: they hate you—even babies at their breast, infants in Iran hate you.

There was a time when Donald Trump had a degree of credibility, because he was the first U.S. president during his initial term who hadn’t started a war. The idea that he would stay true to MAGA and America First—that’s over. U.S. infrastructure is falling apart, and all of this is the result of a policy that began in the late seventies, which over time has led to greater wealth concentration and the destruction of the middle class. Why? Because tax cuts have only served to enrich the rich and impoverish workers. That has translated into a steady decline in the maintenance of the country’s infrastructure. If they’ve managed to maintain their massive military, it is precisely through bank fraud and the financialization of the economy.

In the United States, the vast majority of people live paycheck to paycheck; they don’t have a dollar set aside for an emergency, let alone to cope with the high costs caused by rising oil prices. This situation has spread throughout what used to be called the first world—that is, all across Europe. It is quite hard to find anyone with the financial means to handle an unexpected expense without turning to a credit card. Washington still believes that Europeans can fund their military through the dollar. They keep printing dollars, and the more dollars they print, the more they devalue the reserves of China, Russia, and others. If you see that you’ve been given a certain amount of paper bills for what you’ve manufactured and sold, and then without you doing anything those bills are worth half as much tomorrow, you say: I don’t want them. The next time I sell something, I don’t want these bills. That is what is happening to the United States with the dollar—fewer and fewer people want it. The Chinese don’t want the dollar. The Russians don’t want dollars. The Turks don’t want dollars. The Indians don’t want dollars, and they are steadily reducing their reliance.

Thanks to the dollar’s former dominance, the U.S. has been able to maintain nearly 1,100 military bases around the world—bases that are falling apart because there is no money to maintain them. Today, the empire has reached its expansion limit; it is cracking and beginning to contract. At this moment—what Oswald Spengler would call the end of civilization, the phase where money, politicking, political parties, the press, intellectuals, and so on take precedence—this world always succumbs to the same things: nihilism, woke culture, gender-neutral pronouns, transgender pets. Total nihilism. When you enter that phase of total chaos, people realize they cannot go on living like this. And what do they look for? A Caesar to save them—Spengler’s Caesarism. Strongmen appear, whom many believe will reverse the cycle, but the cycle cannot be reversed. What they really do is impose order on that final stage of the empire, of a culture that is already on its way to the grave. That is what is happening to the United States, it will not make it to the 22nd century. We are going to collapse due to internal dynamics, not because Attila will come and conquer Washington and plunder the country.

Instead of doing the only rational thing Donald Trump could have done—which was: one, not start a single new war; two, end the wars they were already in—which is exactly what they said they were going to do and what seemed logical; and three, focus on confronting the other rising hegemon, China. The main Chinese shipyard has more construction capacity than all the shipyards in the United States combined. When the United States was facing the Soviet Union, it could produce hundreds of aircraft a year; now it can’t even produce an F-35 with the corresponding radar. They have gotten themselves into a mess they can’t get out of, and at the same time, they have triggered a global recession that will be like the ones in 1929, 1973, and 2008 all rolled into one. And that is going to hit home. And the first one on his way to Alcatraz will be Donald Trump. The next one going to the slammer will be Netanyahu.
