What’s wrong with chicken feed( bugs) is that they’re now feeding it to us in Europe
Okay to Feed bugs to the chickens, then we eat the eggs and chickens…bugs are fine to eat, but have to be processed by the chickens first?

“Processed” meaning it all goes through the gut and out the back end? Not necessarily. Their might be some bugs left in the stomach/GI, but that gets removed once chicken is table readied. No bugs in the eggs.

I don’t know a lot about it, but I think the idea is to let chickens out to grub for insects, worms, and whatever other things they naturally eat, so they can supplement their diet and get the nutrients they need to be healthy (rather than just eating store-bought feed, regardless of its quality).

Couldn’t humans do the same? Wait, we don’t have a gizzard. 
I eat cage free organic eggs in hopes they have a nice home.

Free-range chickens tend to be eaten by eagles.
Probably cause they taste good.
Lots of red-tailed hawks here that’ll grab’em. Then, the raccoons, rats, skunks, etc. Even gators if you’re close enough to a bayou.

Since I have been raising chickens for over 30 years, I don’t have the patience to read what I already know. There are a lot of sources of “chicken feed” and some of them are total poison crap. We don’t feed our chickens with that. We can’t let them out even with our dogs because we haven’t been able to foil all the predators (they don’t get our geese or ducks thanks to the dogs) but chickens are particularly stupid and tasty. I had to chase red tailed hawks off of some of our guineas last summer (they had killed one) and they were hiding in the cedars so I could defend them. Chickens provide eggs throughout part of the year and protein when they quit that process. Anyone who does not revere chickens is missing the point for these nearly dinosaur food sources.
The feed that all the people on chicken sites who are complaining about the feed agree that the food is absolute poison and they have agreed to stop buying that cheap crap.
