I’m afraid I’m as much a fan of the Vatican and most other religious institutions as was Voltaire, so you can imagine my take on it. I can see Christianity has contributed a lot to Western civilization. The “Universal Church” is a different matter…
If the Vatican feels the need to repent, perhaps it can issue itself a mega-indulgence. It would have to pay itself a hefty sum to redeem its cumulative misdeeds, but I’m sure Bergoglio’s friend Madame Rottenchild could arrange the financing.
