A three-parent technique could help trans men have babies | MIT Technology Review
Looks like some of MIT’s peoples eggs were left to hatch for too long. Just because you could doesn’t mean you should…too much time on their hands.
I tried reading the article, but the convoluted language alone made it impossible for me to finish… to say nothing of such propositions as this:
Fertility treatments can be undesirable for transgender men, as they involve pausing gender-affirming hormone therapy and undergoing potentially distressing procedures such as female hormone treatments and [obstetric] exams.
Heaven forbid anyone ever contemplate doing anything that might possibly “distress” even one in a million people, in some universe, on some distant planet, even a little bit… As if these procedures are fun and non-distressing to plain, old-fashioned women?! Apparently, too, puberty blockers are “gender-affirming” and “treatment”! As if you couldn’t affirm a child’s feelings and beliefs without giving them drugs or irreversibly altering their bodies.
I knew this kind of thing was happening, but to see the proposals in this article written about with a straight face in a technology journal from a formerly serious, world-renowned academic institution is absolutely mind-blowing!
