Oh joy! Notre-Dame: DISGUSTING stained-glass windows created by a LEFTIST to be installed soon?

Hopefully, the original stained glass will be kept to be replaced at a later date. The entire movement to eliminate Christianity from France is certainly prescient but will no doubt become an historical remnant of these darker times. This will not prevail as God wins in the end… so maybe this stained glass monstrosity will be used in an art museum somewhere where it at least will be joined together with some clarity about the stupidity of these times.

Details matter, that’s what makes a piece of art. Some curators are available for a price or a committed ideology. Sad.

… unfortunately very little art created after the 19th Century. The current cultural situation is not very likely to produce any art in the near future. … see A Canticle for Leibowitz on the role of blueprints in the future of Illuminated Manuscripts. Trust me The Book of Kells has nothing to worry about. I was fortunate to be able to see The Book of Kells the last time I was in Dublin. I understand that it is going to be removed for various and sundry reasons.

At this stage of the game … I think it’s utterly impossible for the woke western idealogues to create ANYTHING of real beauty … unlike the Main Cathedral of the Russian Armed Forces – Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ which is just breathtaking …

Thanks for this uplifting link!

I’ve read one reason for the lose of beauty and harmony in art is since artists send back what they perceive in culture, we’ve been inundated with “fractured fairytales” of the changes brought about with modernity.

@Bill10558
… “fractured fairytales” regarding modernity is new age psycho babble … A simple rational explanation … A heart that is UGLY loathes beauty … It ALL goes back to the DARKNESS that resides … It’s a DIRECT reflection of the soul …

“It’s a DIRECT reflection of the soul” … I rest my case …

No, fractured fairytales used to be part of the Bullwinkle the Moose and Rocky The Squirrel cartoon show Saturday mornings where I lived in the 1960’s. Here I use it as a metaphor to represent the changes to the pastoral life of the previous era.
Also with the advent of the impact of socialist thinking, art was art, only if it served the progressive goal of socialism, destruction of the status quo of capitalism. The artists were the intelligentsia leading the charge. They still are.

I don’t see what the problem is.
Always, at least since the first attempts at democracy in the Hellenic city-states, or later in the Roman Republic as the first state system before the empire…there have been leftists and rightists.
So what’s the problem?
Nostalgia for the monarchical way of governing?
Kings, princes and princesses?
And fairy-tale fantasies from Aesop?
Or the Brothers Grimm?
Or are we not aware as people or humans at what crucial (CRUX) crossroad as humanity and the planet as a whole ,we are on and in,and above right now?
Or what?
Or why?
Yes,yes…i know from stand point of our time left-ist is bad and right-ist is good.
Left bad,right good.
But…no,no,noo big, giant mind-less misconception still in fluctuation and motion in our minds even today…big, big…lie, well just big lie we are convicing ourself daily…still
But maybe simply puted …“such are the times”…

aaand than there is this…

And All RESIDES IN DARKNES after all.Is it not that as it is,as it have been and will be?

Or should I simplify further to the point of absurdity?
Are you all right-handed, or only left-handed?
Or are there those who can use both their left and right hands at the same time, for writing, or for anything else?
Or can you learn to work with your left hand if your right hand is handicapped for some reason?
Yes, you can.
Or should I continue with the concepts of martial arts in samurai Japan and gong-fu China?
In Japan, the rule and concept that there is only the right hand when handling a sword, saber, is exclusively valid.
But in China, both hands are equal, when handling a sword, for example.
So see it if you can…or do not if you can not.

Of course you will experience it, whether you have seen it or not. In pitch darkness and void, or in blinding light.
It’s the same thing.
YOU DON’T SEE ANYTHING IN PITCH DARKNESS, BUT YOU DON’T SEE ANYTHING IN BLINDING LIGHT ALSO.
IT’S THE SAME THING.

There were, are and will be people who shed tears over the damage to Notre Dame.
The same ones are indifferent to the bloodshed in Ukraine, Palestine of living blood flowing from living people.
They are the ones Dr. JPF makes references to, they look like us, walk like us, talk like us, quack like us, eat like us, etc… BUT THEY ARE NOT US!!

And you see them, you meet them every day.
You who are more sensitive simply feel that they are nonhuman. But they are something else.
They make your skin crawl. Or they make you feel sick.
Or you simply cannot stand them physically.
Etc… They are not you.
They are some"Тhing "else…

My apologies Bill … I didn’t realise it was a reference from Rocky and Bullwinkle … Ah! … those were the dayz

The issue here is more about the ideology of the artist, than aesthetics of transcendence. There are many excellent stained glass artists across Europe and elsewhere who would have completed a more aesthetic and appropriate job. These artist can deliver any range from modern to naturalistic art.
The presented effort is simply another expression of the ongoing Macronesque Grotesque. It is an insisted upon devaluation of the the initial aesthetics’ import and impact of the original glass art purposes as a component of the cathedral itself which were about elevation and transcendence of the spiritual experience.

Keep in mind the original proposed grotesque rebuilding models that obliterated the aesthetics of reconstruction. Those ideas evidently seeped through in a few contracts.
