Oh! ... so this is what is being done underground ... buried nuke reactors ... What could possibly go wrong?

I saw this one too. The comments are great…every criticism I could have come up with are there. I’m not aware of any drilling technology that can make a 30" bore hole down a mile…so either complete fantasy or accidental reveal of the rumored nuclear boring tech. I can hear it now…weeeeeellll a mile is too hard, so we think 100 ft would be OK.

… also … wasn’t it decided a while back that underground nuclear testing was bad under the
Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (1996)? So if one of these reactors goes off exactly how is that different? Just Sayin’
