I remember the “fall of the Shah” and the narrative of his installation by the CIA and MI6 in 1953 to cancel nationalization of the oil deposits after Mohammad Mosaddegh’s administration nationalized British Petroleum’s oil investments.
No mention of that in 60 Minutes interview, but that would be expected from a CIA messenger, especially during that era.
In 2013, the U.S. government formally acknowledged the U.S. role in the coup, as a part of its foreign policy initiatives, including paying protestors and bribing officials.[14]
