… going to do something in the future website-related on YouTube, the channel is now officially disgusting… trying to spend a quiet night listening to Widor’s 5th Organ Symphony (performed by Richard McVeigh), endless interruptions by commercials, and ALWAYS at the worst possible moments. All those advertisers will not be getting any of my business. This is as tasteless as interrupting Don Giovanni with a commercial for a dating service.

Hi Dr Farrell. I use Firefox as my browser running the AdGuard AdBlocker extension, and get no ads interrupting videos on YouTube. It’s worth trying out.

Same, using adguard for years and is very effective. I use the paid version not the free extention. The only time it can falter for a few hours is when windows and or browser updates.
Hi Joseph, use the trick that I learned on our forum here:
- go to the youtube video you want to listen to
- type a “-” in your browser window between “yout” and “ube” and hit enter
- the page will open again as “yout-ube…” and will now play without commercial interruptions, enjoy!

Open the video or the playlist in background tab, and there will be no adds, leave empty new tab that is viewable, this is work around for me …
other think more useful way around, there where the bandwidth is issue, or in my case so the wifi modem would not fry me while sleep at night, whether on comp or phone so would have airplane mode, I do download bunch of videos with some yt downloader, in some there are popup adds but just close them when such will jump in new tab, eg. … https://tuberipper.cc … where for the large interview files coz dont need high end audio use m4a that brings super shortened load …
… useful coz many videos sooner or later evaporates, so having them archived in time its treasure, eg. making bulk of Your interviews, among which eg. the one people loves to report it and like that remove it from the platform, that luckily once I’ve needed I’ve upped it on dailymotion as AATA [1]

Then there are no commercials.

Have noticed that the cadence and duration of adverts on YouTube have noticeably increased, I refuse to pay to avoid, hence reducing views on YT. Think they may actually lose revenue in the long run using their current model.

I’ve noticed the adverts on all ytube material is getting quite inane, silly and ridiculous.
Hi Pelister. How does one open the youtube in a background tab, what is a background tab I guess is the question.
I have been using the Brave Browser fo some years now and it filters out A LOT of unwanted ads, including YT. Highly reccomended!
the tab that is not in use, eg. next to the open tab … as google defines it “A background tab in a web browser is any open tab that you are not currently viewing. It stays open to keep content or tasks active, while you interact with your active tab.”
I encourage you to do this Dr. Farrell as UTube could have great potential in getting your ideas out. As well, I believe guest appearances on Alex Jones would be great. Also, I have seen some of your blogs appear on my Facebook feed lately.
