Olena Vanina reported that Conductor Yuriy Kerpatenko has been killed

Invading Russian forces (always with the caveat “If true”) shot dead the conductor of the Kherson Philharmonic, Yuriy Kerpatenko, for refusing to cooperate with the occupation authorities, journalist Olena Vanina wrote on [Facebook]

One wonders what problem or danger a conductor could pose.

Nothing personal or special about Ukrainians musicians or conductors. Russians are in a midst of liquidating as they called “their experiment with Ukraine”, that’s all.

I woke to a disturbing scene the waking brought me slowly back to the stupor malaise of a life as a geriatric. It was Hillary making her acceptance speech joking about missing bodies on the trail, she knows this is a legendary moment first woman to about to become presidroid, oh can I imagine the carnage !!! Her gleeful smile reminds me of the photo of her in front of a confederate flag in her husbands Arkansas office lol lol what a smile beams across the digits as she offers up none other than his highness, spent his youth like me smoking pot off the roof of the interior of a 62 impala!! Yah him barakness dumbomber the king of slick. She’s promising the masses that in order to fix all the problems in our once great nation, which had a fraud election she still refuses to accept the results of where she lost to Russian hackers!, no not trumps vivid claims of a felonious election hers! Or did thou forget? No she’s installing Obama as the next scotus! Thrilled I bet, he’s replacing Clarence Thomas who passed or will pass she’s saying lol lol hmmmm, as she proceeds to increase the number of jurors then appoint them, then explain we need to remove politics from the scotus so here we go, voila! Obama now chief and a democrat/liberal majority problems solved lol lol definitely depoliticized scotus by installing a former president lol and more like him lol lol add 5 for Christ sakes who cares!! It’s quite obvious we can remove politics from the Supreme Court by appointing politicians to the Supreme Court, rather than judges afterall, they’ve been doing a miserable job right? !!! Lol lol good god man don’t you know that in the navy a man must always choose the lesser of two weevils…:flushed:

Who among us can see clearly through the fog of war and concomitant propaganda?

That being said, war is famous not only for propaganda, but also for destroying the innocent.

Noam Chomsky has eagle’s perception in political matters, he is worth checking out.

Again and again one might wonder if maybe the music wasn’t good enough?

I was trying with no luck to find a Russian version of this story. All from the Guardian or other Ukraine-slaanted paper to say he was shot in his home for not participating in a concert. Just sounds so typical of Ukrainians who find someone who supports the Russians… not the other way around. I am open to it- just want a balanced version of the story.

With all due respect, where is there room for “balance” in this story?

Either they shot him, or they didn’t.

This is the universal problem of the day. Do our preferred sources of news just report the facts as they see them, or do they only report the stuff that is convenient to their worldview?

You’re not going to read this story on RT, or Zero Hedge.

There is actually a strong argument to be made that the more respectable parts of the mainstream media are more honest than their “fringe” counterparts…except for all the stuff they refuse to cover at all.

Obviously not supporting a civil war is life threatening.

Apparently this is where we completely disagree. There is no longer a respectable mainstream media in my view- NONE. Here is a perfect example:

Wow real journalists with a nose for spotting the use of hyperbolic words in reporting.
Long article but worth the time. Had do a quick deep dive on that area of the world. Talk about a long history of simply taking land and setting up house, bunch of squatters, liars and thieves the lot of them. No wonder there’s a war on to prevent the Eurasian project.

I expressed myself rather inelegantly, there.

I meant to say that the “mainstream” media is only believed by normal people because they report so many (inconsequential) things straight. Think weather, sports scores, crime and process stories…but they won’t talk about certain subjects at all.

Contrast the alternative media, who I think mostly operate on what I call the Alex Jones or Louis Farrakhan rule. You can get away with telling the actual truth about forbidden subjects, but only if you also discredit yourself with a bunch of ridiculous bollocks packaged around it.

Sorting that wheat from the chaff is one of the main problems of the modern age.

The alternate media also won’t cover a great many subjects…for the same reasons as the mainstream media; it is not convenient to their particular political philosophy or world view.

Suing an individual for over a $Billion would certainly lead alternative media to think twice about ALL subjects.
