You mean my usage of it? Considering the impact it had on me at the time it felt appropriate, me being around 12 years old and still used to thinking in generalities, making (too) easy assumptions. Probably more impactful due to the revelation that my simple uncle had more dimensions to him than I’d guessed. Most of you were probably more precocious…
As I said before though, only gave you the cliff notes. Didn’t want to burden you with all the convo’s that made me question my version of reality, or that we all don’t think or assume the same things…

UPDATE: Rapture is now scheduled for October 6-7 with claims that the September 23, 2025 date being off due to the use of the Julian calendar vs the Gregorian. Turns out it was just a clerical error guys… Now I have some time to take care of my unpaid ticket!

… my former pastor had a great line. He said that he was always happy when some soothsayer, of whatever stripe, gave as one of their New Year’s predictions and or prophecies, that the rapture would occur the next year. Since no MAN knows the time or date of the Second Coming their prediction / prophecy guaranteed another worry free year. His thought was that there was no way God was going to let any of those Electronic Evangelist Clowns (podcasters now included).be right.
Oh, and if you really believe that the world is ending October 6th or 7th please send me a PM and I will provide you with an account number to which you can transfer all of your money. I will also provide you with an email address through which I will send you the necessary paperwork (which you can electronically sign) to transfer to me the ownership of any cars, homes, and real estate you may own.

Agreed, firstly, one really has to torture the scriptures to have a rapture, only to find Jesus said no one knows the time of the Second Coming.
Rapture after a second round of donations, but just for the pastor.
