Ouch! I forgot today was the day of RAPTURE (9/23/2025) NOW 10/06/25!

Guys, I totally spaced. Not sure why I’m still here. It MUST be that unpaid traffic ticket from back in '89. Not sure if I was truly guilty or not, just didn’t want to pay it based on PRINCIPLE alone…

I mean, what kind of sense does it make to allow the issuer of said citations, or their higher-ups/brethren to benefit in any way monetarily from this whole exchange, right? Am I just crazy? What happened to third parties or an option to donate the proceeds to a local mission, etc…
It’s just ASKING for corruption, am I right?..Ahh, sorry, rambling again…

Anyway, If any of the “good ones” are still miraculously on this plane of existence…could you get in touch with me? It’s a big favor, I know, but I’ve got this old sack…and was hoping that you could let me hide in the sack and let me out when you get to Heaven (see the video below. 20 min mark). Really HATE to ask, but I just can’t stand losing on a technicality…

Ok, I’ll be hanging out with my brother all day today. It happens to be his birthday and so I just haven’t had the heart to tell him either. Let me know if anyone can help!

Video is a MUST watch btw…start to finish

… my former pastor had a great line. He said that he was always happy when some soothsayer, of whatever stripe, gave as one of their New Year’s predictions and or prophecies, that the rapture would occur the next year. Since no MAN knows the time or date of the Second Coming their prediction / prophecy guaranteed another worry free year. His thought was that there was no way God was going to let any of those Electronic Evangelist Clowns (podcasters now included).be right.

Oh, and if you really believe that the world is ending today please send me a PM and I will provide you with an account number to which you can transfer all of your money. I will also provide you with an email address through which I will send you the necessary paperwork (which you can electronically sign) to transfer to me the ownership of any cars, homes, and real estate you may own.

The Second Coming could be anyone that choose to fulfill the deception.
Any Charlie…

Yep…

I couldn’t help but to post this… Blondie’s Rapture

Forgive me…she was my first crush…and the lyrics are nowhere near as crazy as the news cycle lately.

I remember hearing this song relentlessly back in the day…now the rhythm and drum beats seem mighty slow. Perhaps the drugs back then made it sound better. :speak_no_evil:

Yeah, this one wasn’t one of my fav’s either but it fit the theme of the thread…

At least we got ONE rapture today

FYI, Heart of Glass, Call Me, and Hanging on the Telephone were my thing back then… along with Lucy in the sky with diamonds. To each their own…

It’s not just that song, a lot off the tunes I liked and listened to years ago fall into the same camp… the rhythm drags and the drums beats are slow.

I’ve got an uncle that’s not the brightest (look who’s talking) but he’s hit me with a handful of relatively profound statements when I was in my early teens… For brevity’s sake I’ll give you the shorthand of two of them…

Once on a LONG trip, out of nowhere, he took it upon himself to tell me that in HIS youth he’d always wondered when they would be done with all the roads (construction of new roads, overpasses)…after a pause he said: “They’ll never be done with the roads, it will never stop”. It seems like a simple statement but as a young boy it was one of those “wow” moments that opened up a section of my mind I’d not exercised as yet. Like when a young mind realizes that space potentially/allegedly continues…forever

The second and more pertinent example is when, in a similar fashion, and having been questioned as to why he didn’t seem to be as happy as one thought he might be (he’s quite wealthy) and why he no longer liked to listen to music as when he was young …he offered that the he thought the natural progression of life was to slowly lose interest in things that you used to enjoy until finally it would be easier to accept the end of one’s life…

Obviously, I didn’t agree with this and thought him depressed, but again it opened up a door inside my mind…I was determined to try and avoid this eventuality in the event that it WAS the case and hold on to the things I’d enjoyed in MY youth… So far, so good.

That was longer than it was supposed to be…

Does the word profound work here? I remember as a youth grasping with the concepts of infinity and forever. When I realized they went beyond my imagination and being, it was definitely a wow moment.
I am still in awe of being here and living life as it came at me. Some music from the first forty years of living flashes memories of that time and place.
When I see high school classmates on Facebook and see how time has registered on our face and bodies compared to the youthful look I
remember from our teen years, the picture of Dorian Gray comes to mind.
I would think keeping the past fresh in one’s mind and the enjoyment derived from doing so would indeed be an excellent exercise to keeping the ole noggin in shape. The future builds and unfolds upon past experiences.

I’m still here.

Also, according the catechism (RC) I was taught, rapture conflicts scripture. We’re clearly not meant to know the time of return of the Messiah, which the rapture would signal I presume.
