Patents, core technology and how to control industries

These articles show how very few people can control entire industries while creating a false picture of what corporations actually have any real leverage.

Its alot of text but very related to current events.

"If you want to operate without being seen and understand that in the foreseeable future everyone will have mobile phones, then it is a good idea to let someone else do them and, as the icing on the cake, also get paid for it.

It’s gold digger’s gear of the noblest brand.

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND NOW!

So does China also have problems with the Deep State?

Yes, you can really say that and these are not exactly insignificant!!!

Ren Zhengfei, the founder and CEO of Huawei, told Bloomberg in an interview on Sunday that he would strongly oppose Apple being sanctioned by Washington’s attack on his own company, even though Apple was Huawei’s main competitor in the smartphone market.

“Apple is our predecessor, it advanced before us.” As a student, why should I oppose my teacher? I would never do that," Ren said, adding that he doubts Beijing would drag the American company into the ongoing trade war. Does that sound weird? It’s not at all — so tune in now and be sure to share this!

We start small and further back in time

There came a time when Ericsson no longer needed to make phones under its own name.

It has now been over ten years since Apple’s first iPhone was introduced. At the telecom giant Ericsson, the new phone was condemned immediately.

In 2007, the telecom giant Ericsson worked hard to pave the way for the “mobile internet”. Nevertheless, they were “blind” to the revolution that Apple’s new smartphone would create. For users, perhaps for educational reasons it can be pointed out here…

“They came to the conclusion that that phone does not meet any technical specifications at all, so what they sent out in the organization was that there is no need to worry about it,” says Åse Lindskog, who was press manager at Ericsson at the time. She may even have known what the strategic planning looked like…

Even Sweden’s Radio reported it…

What someone in management said was that it was a real crap phone
At the time, Ericsson still manufactured mobile phones itself through the partly owned subsidiary Sony Ericsson. But when they got to see a prototype of Apple’s masterpiece, the verdict was not merciful.

“What someone in management said was that it was a real crap phone.”

In 2007, Sony Ericsson sold just over 100 million mobile phones and had 8.8 percent of the world market. Åse Lindskog has told about that time in a book. She describes it as the engineers had a lot to say. Which speaks for itself when it appears without being seen.

In 2012, Ericsson sold its share of the joint company to Sony and basically stops selling car phones - at least under its own name.

But Ericsson and Apple signed a global patent license agreement in 2015, to settle disputes and just guess who’s in charge…

The agreement includes a global cross-license for patented standard essential technology and grants certain other patent rights.

The settlement terminates all ongoing patent infringement claims between the parties. The terms of the agreement are confidential.

The companies will then collaborate in several technology areas, including 5G development, video network traffic management and wireless network optimization.

Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) and Apple have thus agreed on a global patent license agreement between the two companies, and Ericsson has then, fittingly, stopped making phones* (our note). The agreement includes a cross-license covering patents covering both companies’ standards-essential patents (including GSM, UMTS and LTE cellular standards) and grants certain other patent rights. In addition, the agreement contains releases resolving all pending patent infringement proceedings between the companies.

Apple gave up - there weren’t even any options…and Ericsson started charging for license infringements after Apple had grown up when Ericsson “disappeared” from the market, wasn’t that some nice timing so tell me!

As part of the seven-year agreement, Apple made an initial payment to Ericsson and then pays ongoing royalties. The specific terms of the contract are confidential. You got paid because you had patented a thought, an idea…

We are simply stunned…we have never looked at the husband’s behavior then…

Including positive effects from the liquidation, including the ongoing IPR business with all other licensors, Ericsson estimates that the full year 2015 IPR revenues amount to SEK 13-14 billion.

This settlement concluded investigations before the US International Trade Commission, trials pending in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas and the US District Court for the Northern District of California, as well as trials in the UK, Germany and the Netherlands.

Who is in charge of the telecom infrastructure…

In addition, the companies came to collaborate in several technology areas, including the development of next-generation 5G cellular standards, optimization of existing wireless networks for the benefit of operators and users worldwide, and optimization of video traffic.

“We are pleased with this new agreement with Apple, which clears the way for both companies to continue to focus on bringing new technologies to the global market and opens up more joint business opportunities in the future,” said Kasim Alfalahi, Chief Intellectual property manager at Ericsson. //C.N

“Microsoft had already begun to collaborate with many of the major figures in the telecommunications industry, among them British Telecom, Deutsche Telekom, DoCoMo and AT&T, as well as with Qualcomm, […]”

It could be because Ericsson is a common denominator for British Telecom, Deutsche Telekom, DoCoMo and AT&T, as well as Qualcomm.

"It can never be the case that the dependence that applies to Apple in relation to Ericsson is also implemented on other companies operating within the same telecom infrastructure, such as Sony Ericsson and Microsoft starting the big mobile fair in Barcelona in 2008 with a bang. The two companies began to cooperate and Sony Ericsson came up with its first Windows-based mobile.

Microsoft, the world’s largest software company, had long been trying to enter the mobile market. But despite great efforts, the company had not yet reached a stronger position. Very strange…or not at all…

So there are several explanations for that. But an important factor is that large mobile manufacturers such as Nokia and Sony Ericsson did everything to keep Microsoft away, they sort of worked together in some way. The concern was said to have been great for Microsoft to gain the same dominant position in the mobile field that the company has in terms of operating systems for personal computers. Which didn’t need any telecom infrastructure at all to communicate with each other…
