My issue with Zeihan is his work at Stratfor and his direct connection to the CIA – he speaks as if he has never once been forced to defend his statements. He gives me the creeps.

Yes, ever since he showed up on JRE, I treat him at least as a partial tool of the establishment. One thing he has going on for him is numbers and statistics, that are difficult to refute.
My tacit assumption is that all data coming out of the West is polluted to the point it’s a mere rhetorical device. Mathematics has suffered immensely since WW2.

Because statistical data from East is so much better. I spent first 20 years of my life, behind Iron Curtain and can firmly say that nobody falsifies data like communist party apparatchiks.
Correct, and the founders of the Soviet system are fundamentally western European, and are now in total control of the West.
Please, read, some imperial Russian literature like, Gogol, Turgenev, Tolstoy. Corruption and falsification of reality didn’t need a west influence, it was there firmly before ascent of communism. Similar case is with the mandarin China.
Communism would not be able take a such a strong hold in the East if not for already present faults and vices of their societies.

I’ve read both Gogol and Tolstoy. I’m fully aware of the assorted Judeo-Masonic attacks on Russia throughout the 18th century. Peter’s destructive impact on Russia, her economy and certainly her church was felt until 1917, when revolutionaries took the same action against the church as Peter did, even using the same rhetoric – granted. But these people did not have complex statistical methods or the complexities of the internet. My point was not that corruption and propaganda did not exist in previous centuries; their dispersal and application are well-beyond anything any imperial Russian historian could conceive.
