Quantum Computing Collapse?

Is it “Quantum Computing Collapse” or just its progress that has become hidden? Or just the inevitability of failure when attempting to interfere with nature at such level? Thoughts?

I suspect another form of quantum computing has been with us for quite some time. The limits or problems that public research is running into being more to do with the limits of the current scientific and sociological paradigms.

if an entity would possibly need 100 billion to make something out of it, an if we imagine a putative entity that might have around 20 or 30 trillion to spend, maybe the paradigm has already shifted.

I suspect that paradigm shifted around 80-90 years ago…and what we are presented with publicly is all just theater

Somebody I know attempted to program using Quantum Allocation Units on the IBM cloud. He said he couldn’t get it to work and gave up on it. He has been programming classical computers for decades and has developed unique AI based language models over the last 20 years. So it is now like he doesn’t know how to program. I think something is up. I don’t think quantum is actually working as advertised.

For me, the problem with quantum computing has always been how do verify its work in theory? You have take its results on faith. There is no practical way by hand or even using classical computers you could verify problems for which the quantum computers were intended to solve.

Ah, QC uses the used car salesperson - any salesperson / marketer’s - motto: “Trust me,” usually with the added soothing salve should a situation raise its ugly head, “No problem.”
If the stuff wasn’t potentially dangerous and pitiable it would be a laugh-riot.
